[Kundalini Yoga] why am I so tired?

my kundalini rose about a week ago and I have had lot's of interesting experiences but it seems when I am not experiencing something or working through something I have been getting tired. Why am I so tired?

Also does anyone know any good grounding exercises, been really spacey too,

[Kundalini Yoga] (unknown)

hi my question is my kundalini rose when my remote healer was working on blockages in my heart chakra then it rose on its own.  problem though is hat I am really tired a lot fo the time since and i don't know why?  Is this normal, I read someone say that kundalini usually gives someone more energy, so why am I so tired?

[Kundalini Yoga] Re: kundalini and sikh religion

Yes many of the mantras we use in Kundalini yoga are from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib - the holy book of the Sikhs.

In my Level 1 teachers training I explain that the primary relationship between Kundalini Yoga and Sikh Dharma is indeed mantra - sound current - naad.

Guru Nanak, the first of the Sikh Gurus spoke of the power of meditation/recitation of sound - in the 1400s. These rich teachings allow us to use sound to access our higher frequencies - but you don't have to follow any one religion to benefit from them.

I'm sure Gururattan will have an eloquent response as well.

[Kundalini Yoga] 40 day sadhana at Yoga House in Washington DC July 18th through August 26th

Living in or traveling to Washington DC this summer?

We are hosting a 40 day Aquarian Sadhana at Yoga House - from July 18th and culminating with Yogi Bhajan's birthday on August 26th.

We'd love your participation, at any level.

If you'd like to chose a day a week, or even once during this 40 day period, please join us tonight. If you can't make it but want to lead, please email me at :

so we can add you to the list of teachers where there is availability.

Otherwise, just come and participate! we always need someone to help with Japji sheets or to make new folks feel at home.

Sadhana is always FREE.

We'll start at 4 am and plan to end by 615 at the very latest. Every sadhana will include a reading (hukam) from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.

On August 26th we'll host 2.5 hours of long ek ong kars to join the world meditation.

Many of us from Yoga House were at Solstice and it was great! Let's ride that wonderful energy and keep up together this summer.

I have it at least once a day...

I guess it's a help only for me to see better my reaction. Now, a week after I'm ready for those situations and I watch them differently.
But I wander if it 's necessary to have them or not... And , of course, to know "why?" :)

It's called, "Eliminating Inner Anger". It's an oldie filmed from a live class, so the production values aren't the greatest, but you do get the flavor of a YB class! The celestial communication is from Japji, although I can hardly make out the words.

Another one I'd recommend is in the Foundation Series, "Getting Rid of Anger and Fear." It is a very strange and wonderful set, but probably not something for someone who's new to kundalini yoga. I didn't even know I had fear until I did this dvd. He says if you do this kriya every day for a week, you will be a different person. I'd definitely say go with the previous one first. Save fear for later!

Is the earth a slave to the human desires and whims?

Humans need the earth more than the earth needs them. Despite our infliction of constant selfish violence on the earth's body, in thought and action, the earth has continued to cradle and hug us, feed and water us, and provide for all our needs and well-being. How can we describe such as profound relationship of supreme and infinite benevolence service? How should we modern day humans consider this intricate, yet unequal, uneven, relationship. Does the earth deserve our appreciation and respect?

[Kundalini Yoga] Effect of spinal injury on flow of energy up spine?

Someone told me yesterday that he once had a steroid injection (to his lower spine) for pain that was being caused due to the drying up of fluid (one of his discs). He was wondering if and how the injection and/or the condition of the disc would affect the flow of energy up his spine during yoga.

The book "Dying into life" by Gur Terath Kaur Khalsa offers some kriyas to
pratice on a chair, good for people of any age, especially for elderly
people (but seek medical advice to be sure about what your father can do).

I just reconnected with my father after many years and discover that he had an angioplasty a year ago. Surgeons put 3 stents in his arteries and he is doing fine.
He doesn't smoke anymore and rarely drink. He has no experience with yoga.
I'd like to suggest him some yoga exercises easy to do for a 70 years old beginner, which could be good for his heart.
Any idea?

Its translated to french so I dont know the exact title but I can try to describe it .

Actualy it's one from the "Owner's manual for the human body" page 26 Y.B. 21 september 1988.

Starts with lying on the back and brathing as if you were snoring - for 1 1/2 minutes.

Then same position , legs straight and up at 20cm. 2 minutes.

Then to the legs up like that add the breth of fire for 1 1/2 minutes.

after, feet un 90*, hitting by hands as strong possible and getting out the anger 2 1/2 min.

etc.

Do yu need me to tell you all or you can recognise it ?

It ens with the sat Kriya for 1min 15 sec.

all in all - around 30minutes.

After the set I do a meditation for 11min "wahe guru, wahe guru" so called : PRAAN ADHAAR KRIYA

I've been practicing Kundalini yoga for two years now.
Three days ago I started a set for getting rid of the interieur anger that I got and the teacher who gave it to me said tha it's normal to have difficult situations during the 40 days (or during the time that I'll be doing it), situations like conflicts etc that will help me to get out the anger actualy .
Is it really necessary to have that hard time in order to accomplish the goal of the set ?

Thanks for your answer, situational depression has a cause that we can recognize maybe easily.
If a person is seeing a "medical" professional and has voices inside the head I am inclined to think that maybe is not situational, that it has its roots in childhood trauma or to say it without using the medical model terminology that maybe the person has a great loss or suffered abuse at some stage.
What you say about changing the sense of yourself is very valid in every process only that depression is a major cause for people committing suicide and sometimes other kind of interventions are necessary (response to crisis or intense need)
I would never minimize the feelings or lack of them caused by depression and I am inclined to cover every avenue available and at the same time I would never minimize the benefits of Yoga in any healing process.

 I am a bit confused, I believe you are a gifted person, and an educated one, skillful.
Depression is to my eyes an illness and as such we have to pay attention, get support, medicines if necessary when the suffering is unberable.
 
Voices, internal ones are part of a rich interior life, they have a reason, and again it is a journey where  having a guide, a supporter, a wise professional is for the best
Yoga makes us see and feel our body, it balances us ..........

Your spirit is blessed in addition to your intellectual gifts. This is so rare; take great care to cultivate inwardly these 'seeds'.

Why does fear arise when you wake up just before the music starts?

Could you try to study or write about the fear the instant it happens... the source of it will be very subtle and hidden, so keep searching every time. Be suspicious that the ego is afraid of the divine and is intent on holding you back. The stories of God vs. Satan, or good vs. evil, are all metaphors for the ego vs. spirit.

The music holds a message for your inner spirit and potentially also for you to compose for the world.

Dizziness could be merely from the body not able to handle well the 'divine energy' so to speak; this is one half of the reason why we practice yoga. The other half is to learn to identify ego and soul/spirit.

There is nothing more important than learning to disconnect from ego/thoughts and re-connecting with spirit.
