[Kundalini Yoga] Your practice

What are you getting results from these days? Would you like to share your favorite kriyas/meditations that maybe aren't so well known?

I recently discovered the Opportunity and Green Energy Set from Guru Rattana's Relax and Renew book. It makes you feel great, it works on all your chakras but your heart in particular.

My all time favorite, though, is Outward Bound in Fountain of Youth, especially combined with the basic aura set from Sadhana guidelines. The 2 sets practiced together leaves you glowing! It's rather challenging and you need to build up your times, or find a length that works for you.

[Kundalini Yoga] ? re Guru Rattana's yoga class

Is it possible to view a sample class before signing up?

I know one can sign up via Paypal and then have a # of days to cancel and not be charged, but I hate to go thru signing up to Paypal and give somebody else access to my information on the internet, unless I know for sure I will sign up for the classes.

One class online would be enough for me to view and decide.

Know what the values/standards are, and then help, train, train, train that
employee to reach that potential. Also help him/her to reach a personal

SS has a great point. . . I would add to that by saying, as in his example of someone who works too slowly, start out by praising them for their thoroughness, or attention to detail, or whatever other great qualitities they have, and then draw their attention to areas that could be improved. think of your job as helping the employees refine the good work they do. . .

also - remember that "not being negative" does not equate with dropping any form of discernment. Compassionate discernment is a great virtue!!

that you would free them from this incarnation (if their job is not good as
it should be) instead telling/thinking that you would kill them :-)))

Like all meditations and Kriyas, you can work your times up to the indicated duration, in this case eleven minutes for each part. At the beginning you may go five minutes on each of the two parts of the Kriya and work your way up to eleven minutes on each one.

As for the movement, this is a fluid Kriya. During the first part you are supposed to feel the wind as your right cupped hand passes beyond the right ear. Develop a rhythm so you feel the flow of air developing into a breeze at your ear. During the second part, it will be the flicking of the Saturn finger associated with HAR that will flow.

Hi RS,

I think that your issue is quite simple on the surface and a deeper part of finding the positive. For example, instead of criticizing someone and saying that they work too slow, you could instead say that they have an excellent opportunity to improve their speed. In essence, stuff happens, and what we are in control of (or strive to be anyways) is our attitude to the stuff happening. Its all in the angles.

pittra kriya. Most links refer to Yogi Bhajan's explanation of the kriya. I
cannot understand from the description whether the first part of it is
static or dynamic -- when one has moved their right hand far back shall they
bring it again on their knee, hand cupped, then back on the sruff-on the
knee-on the scruff, etc.? Or should we keep it on the scruff for 11 minutes?

[Kundalini Yoga] 40 day positivity meditation + work

I have begun the 'do not say anything negative about anyone for 40 days' meditation. It is very wonderful, and i have observed the changes in my mind and the power of positivity.
I am having trouble at work. Sometimes as a manager we must be critical at work and use are discrimination. If people arent doing their job. this needs to be addressed. I am wondering how to do this in a positive constructive way.

Labyrinthitis is very debilitating due to the extreme dizziness and nausea that
accompany the inflammation. I suggest meditation using the mantras
OM (on an inhalation) visualizing golden light and HUM (pronounced hoom, on the
exhalation) visualizing deep blue or sapphire. Focus the meditation on the area
behind each ear just below the mastoid bone. Massaging this area may also be
helpful.

Madrid is six hours ahead from the US East Coast.  Here in Washington DC, we are starting at 3:30am with the Adi Shakti Mantra for two and a half hours so that by 6am we can begin the 11-minute Guru Ram Das Mantra.  If we are going to keep the "same chanting time", this will mean that our Brothers and Sisters in Spain (Madrid is my reference) should start the Adi Shakti Mantra at 9:30am so that at noon (Wahe Guru with the Sun in it´s center) you start the Guru Ram Das Mantra.
 
� I can not forget, as the Sat Siri Akal mantra makes us vibrate, that we are timeless, and that beyond the Ethers, Yogi Bhajan dwells in the timeless realm.

We have always done 2 1/2 hours of Long EKs (
www.gongsongs.com/Ek-Ong-Kar.html ) on his birthday. Also, worldwide we
coordinated our times so that we all chanted Guru, Guru Wahe Guru, Guru
Ram Das Guru at the *same time*.
Examples below:
East Coast - GRD meditation would be at 6am
West Coast - GRD meditation would be 3am
Alaska would be at 2am. They start 2.5 hours of Long EKs at 11:30pm! I
know because I flew into Anchorage back in '90, arrived at the ashram,
drop my bags and more or less immediately we began Long EKs. 3 hours
later I took the mother of all naps!

This is an opportunity for us all to remember him sincerely and humbly
in heart and thank him for all that he has given and shared to uplift
the human race and the planet.

On the 26th raise up a little bit early, perhaps at 3am, if you can not do a complete morning Sadhana, chant the Adi Shakti Mantra (Long Ek Ong Kars) for 2 1/2 hours, then chant Guru Ram Das for 11 minutes.  
 
If you can read or listen to Jap Ji before, even better. And even best, if after Jap Ji, you can do a Kriya, just for You, then chant the Adi Shakti Mantra and Guru Ram Das.

Guru Rattana was using Twitter. Gurutej in LA (I'll bet lunch you know her) is big on it.  I'm not signed up but plan to start when I open Yoga Oasis here in San Diego. Basically my focus will be more towards building a yogic community around the studio using social media marketing, but for sure there will be KY tips and such.

I'd be interested in hearing your experiences.

I know it is confusing, there is so much out there.

Find a practice that works for you and stick with it.
For example, for me, consistency is a big issue, so I am doing a basic "energy" set. I picked something that will be effective, but not present too much of a challenge, cuz I didn't want to have an excuse to not do it!

I will respond to your 3rd question - re kundalini rising.
In my experience you are right in that it is more subtle and less bells and whistles.
"I am beginning to wonder if it may not be a more imperceptible thing, where you just grow to be more and more aware and energetic as time goes on?"
For me, yes.

I have had times in my life when practicing Kundalini Yoga has produced great dramatic changes.
and times in my life when - as now- I don't feel any magic, but I have been doing a set every day, and I feel worse if I don't and I like the way my body feels after and if I practice.
Sometimes I'm not even sure why I practice just that I do.
And I'm trying not to analyse too much, just do it.

I find it much better if I do my set in the early morning.
Easier for me than for others - bec. I wake up anyway, at 1 or 2 or 3 am - so might as well do my set. :)

I think the experience is different for everybody, I think it is wonderful that you have discovered this practice.
My advice is just keep on and keep up.
If you can do it every day that is good, but if you can't, then you return to it, that is good too.

As far as counting the 40 days, I don't know, I'll let someone else answer.

Thank you for your advice.

As an early morning sadhana, I am going to work through "The 8 Human Talents" by
Gurmukh and Michon, spending 40 days on each cakra, starting with the first,
then the second, and so on. It should take about a year.

I will keep doing online lessons and DVD lessons in the evening.
