Cleansing is normal in the begnning especially. But serious
pressure headaches for 3 months is not normal. This can be related to opening of the third eye and not being enough in your body. Try eliminating root lock for a while and focus in feeling the sensations in your body. Connect to the base of your spine and feel yourself connected to the earth.

Also see an acupunturist or a body worker who can help shift the energy out of your head.

Perhaps it should be mentioned that fluoride, bromine, and chlorine)are in the same chemical family (halide)as iodine. They are absorbed by your body through skin,lungs,or digestion and essentially block the use of iodine by your thyroid gland. Most people who already know they have thyroid problems have heard this, but if not, minimize your exposure! Swimming pools, cleaning products, and toothpaste are obvious sources to be vigilant about.

Goodness, sorry for the confusion, ie wrong words. That's what I get for writing quickly during Mercury retrograde. The correction and additions are below.

Blood flow gets blocked in this area in men's bodies. Take a romote for the TV or something similar and press (or massage deeply with pressure) OVER the PUBIC BONE at the base of the lignam.

Restoring proper blood flow can help the problem. Pressure is needed to release the blood flow when it gets blocked. Be attentive and you can feel the release and blood flow as warmth or tingling in the feet.

This simple procedure can restore sexual flow, clear the urinary tract and help increase bladder capacity. It can also help with weight control by clearing blood restrictions that create water retention.

This is a good procedure for men to do on a regular basis for prostate heath -- once a week, every day, as you choose.

This can possibly reduce the chance of cancer by eliminating the environments that attract cancer -- stagnant blood in the prostrate that becomes inflamed.

[Kundalini Yoga] Winter Soltice, Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon

Hello to all Yogis and Yoginis on this momentus event! I have been perusing the posts this last week and have been truly surprised as to the lack of mention of the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse/Winter Soltice. Especially since they are all happening at the same time.
I live in rural Maine and am without a teacher. My practice is sparse and committment low. However, when I do practice, I filled with awe as to the impact only a little does.
I could use words of support, and links of info about rituals of these events. I wish you all your hearts desires.

Tip of the Nose: is one of the oldest recorded yogic practices. Nose tip gazing, a form of Trataka, concentration of mind as a prelude to meditation, to that state where we have gone beyond our senses to surrender ourselves.
 
The technique for the Tip of the Nose, fixing the eyesight within:
 
You may use the finger technique but the one described here comes more natural.
Sit comfortable in Easy Pose. Close your eyes. By closing your eyes first you will cut off 80% of all stimuli coming at your brain, plus, it will disengage the optic nerve and relax all your extraocular muscles which are controled by the cranial nerves (3rd, 4th and 6th).  Stay in this position for as long as it takes for you to find yourself in a relaxed state. Then open your eyes and focus on the tip of the nose. Don´t fight it. Don´t strain your eyes. This is the most important part. Don´t strain. If you strain you will feel pain. If you don´t strain, it all will be gain. You know when you are at the tip of the nose, at the Lotus Point, when you see a double outline of the nose. Remember, this is inward gazing, the tip of the nose is the guide. If you concentrate too much on the tip of the nose by fighting strain and ressistance, your mind will be full of nose but not of Bliss.  After a while, the nose double outline will merge and will
become one.  Then, the outlines will cross each other and form a V point. Look for that V-point. That is your gazing point.  Focus there, stay there. If you can not see this V point (it is actually really cool to see it, a Wahe Guru moment), then you are not really fixing at the tip of the nose.  Relax your eyes and try again. You will get there. When you feel you are straining too much, relax and keep coming to it.
 
Once you get there:  A teacher's moment here; a lot of us tend to start our Kriya or Pranayam first and then try to focus at the tip of the nose as if it was a consequence or a second thought of the Kriya. Think when you are doing morning Sadhana and chanting Wahe Guru Wahe Jio. We tend to jump into Vir Asan asana, then as we start chanting we try to figure out how to focus at the tip of the nose and sustain it, as if it was a secondary part of it.  It has got to be the other way around.  The Trataka, gazing, needs to be established first if we are to be in a meditative state. 
 
After you have established into the tip of the nose gazing, then you need to become aware of your breath. Then, you may begin the pranayam. If doing Sodharshan Chakra Kriya, try to establish the tip of the nose gaze before starting the breath, the mental chanting and the pumps.
 
The Eyes at the Tip of the Nose: Agiaa Chakra Bandh: Stimulates the Pineal gland and the frontal lobe of the brain. It is so powerful because it bypasses the master gland, the Pituitary, and goes straight for the Tenth gate, into the Thousand-Petaled Lotus, hence its name Lotus Point Meditation.
 
Just for remembering: the eyes at the "Third Eye Point", Shambavi Mudra, stimulates the Pituitary.  Eyes at the Tip of the Nose, Agiaa Chakra Bandh, stimulates the Pineal gland.
 
The Bhagavad Gita says: "Holding his body, head and neck erect and motionless, the aspirant should gaze at the tip of his nose without once turning around." (6:13). This is the chapter that talks about Meditation and Self-Control (Dhyana, the seventh limb, ashtanga, in Patanjali's sutras). 
 
Now for your contemplation: if the Gita really meant to say that we must focus at the tip of the nose to be in the Tenth Gate and fill our mind in nothing but God, then, by concentrating solely at the tip of the nose the mind will be left with the nose but without God.  What the Tip of the Nose gazing really means is that we have to fix the eyesight within.

Sometimes it is like that for awhile ... one side of the nose or the other
when looking at the nose. Try putting a little round sticker on the very
tip of the nose. It helps. The eyes turning in that way stimulate the
pituitary gland (the optic nerves actually lift to stimulate the very bottom
of the pituitary gland) which is much of the point of focusing on the nose.
Keep trying, just like learning to play the piano, we start with scales and
work up to Mozart!

I would like to know something about this kriya and maybe it affects more
kriya.
It's about looking at the tip of the nose.

When i do this, i found myself looking from one side of my nose or the
other. I thought it was normal but this morning i started seeing both sides
at the same time.

It brought my thinking, is it the right way of doing this.. do i have to
look exactly at the tip or do i have to look in front...

Looking at both sides at the same time was more tiring for the eyes. But i
think that it must help to center oneself. Not being energeticaly too much
one either sides. I am right ?

Wow. You got a gift very early. Most people work for years to have this awakening and then try to repeat it, but it doesn't happen. The awakening of the kundalini is unpredictable as your experience shows.

Now you must ground this consciousness in your body. Do spinal flexes and the stretching exercises to keep the energy in your body flowing. But do not do Sat Kriya or root lock at this time. Do more grounding, feeling in your body and breathing. Also standing exercises and walking to ground.

Don't spook yourself. Enjoy your awakening process and cultivate the aliveness in your body and the clarity in your mind.

Sometimes it is like that for awhile ... one side of the nose or the other
when looking at the nose. Try putting a little round sticker on the very
tip of the nose. It helps. The eyes turning in that way stimulate the
pituitary gland (the optic nerves actually lift to stimulate the very bottom
of the pituitary gland) which is much of the point of focusing on the nose.
Keep trying, just like learning to play the piano, we start with scales and
work up to Mozart!

[Kundalini Yoga] Shodarshan Chakra Kriya

Sat Nam!

I would like to know something about this kriya and maybe it affects more kriya.
It's about looking at the tip of the nose.

[Kundalini Yoga] Sat Kriya and a kundalini awakening

dear guru rattana,

I dropped a line to you last month where I talked about practicing kundalini yoga (exercises for maintainig a flexible spine) since sept 8th this year. I then felt guided to start sat kriya and finally chose your wonderful video as it felt so gentle and warm!

About 3 weeks ago, after only one week of doing this consistently, I had a powerful unstoppable experience where I saw all my chakras moving in full technicolour,it was how I would imagine an LSd trip to be like!
When this had finished, I felt a tremendous surge of energy which shook and took over my whole my body. I knew immediately that it was my kundalini.

I got up the following morning , did my sadhana concluding with a sat kriya. Unfortunately, the whole experience left me feeling scared and anxious, particularly after I heard a voice saying "I want Sarah"

I have not really done any consistant yoga since then as I have been unwell with the flu and have also lost confidence.

Should I have waited longer before undertaking sat kriya, It seems that my body/mind was not ready for it.

My mum died about a week before all this happened, do you think this has any relevence?

A big part of me wants to continue with my KY as up til now, it has given me an inner strength and much more peace of mind. Should I try and find a Teacher? (I always feel that Yogi Bhajan is my Teacher!)

I would be grateful to receive any thoughts you may have on this matter.

[Kundalini Yoga] Re: Help Kundalini Syndrome

I'd strongly encourage you to encourage the family to take him out of the mental hospital and off drugs ASAP. If he is a danger to himself or others then the mental hospital is a good choice, but my guess is that what he needs is love and acceptance. He needs time and a safe place to let his experiences pass. He does not need drugs. He does not need an environment that tells him that what is experiencing is "wrong"

Some therapists that have experience with this sort of thing are the Spiritual Emergence Network http://www.spiritualemergence.info/
If there a practitioner near you, please investigate and see if they are a good option for you.

As mentioned earlier, if there is a master level teacher nearby that understands his symptoms, that would be a best choice.
