hi to everyone on the forum!

I thought I would post a message to see if anyone can shed light on something...

I have recently been experiencing mild shooting pains in my feet immediately followed by kundalini energy in my head... usually around the back of the skull and on top.

I think I must be a very lucky person as I have had over half a dozen Kundalini experiences in the last year where my body is taken over by an indescribable vibrating energy I have come to call my Shakti. This always occurs between 3 and 5 a.m. and when I am awake

This usually follows three loud fog horns which alert me that something's up! Although last week, for the first time. I saw an orange flamed symbol just before the "energy surge".

I have also had an out of body experience where (in short) I was taken up to space and, travelling at a million miles an hour surrounded by stars, saw a light the like of which I have never seen which came to have some symbols/sort of writing... I felt there was an intelligence behind it and that it was communicating.

when I came "back to my body", I just thought "wow, there was no fear" and "I think I just had a glimpse of God!"

Then I had to get up later and go to work as normal!

The other milestone that happened this year is in the middle of doing a 40 day kirtan kriya, I had a very powerful experience where I looked in the fridge and thought "I don't want to eat people any more! O my Gosh, I'm a vegetarian!" and that was that. I am a vegetarian... it was like an epiphany!

Anyway, like a lot of you, I am coming to see more and more the beauty of life and our effect on it through kundalini yoga and meditation and would really like to hear of any kundalini experiences you have had and if anyone can think of a connection between the feet and experiencing shakti around the crown chakra.

I personally feel that my vibrations may be changing, ready for the Aquarian age!

I have also had an out of body experience where (in short) I was taken up to space and, travelling at a million miles an hour surrounded by stars, saw a light the like of which I have never seen which came to have some symbols/sort of writing... I felt there was an intelligence behind it and that it was communicating.

when I came "back to my body", I just thought "wow, there was no fear" and "I think I just had a glimpse of God!"

Then I had to get up later and go to work as normal!

The other milestone that happened this year is in the middle of doing a 40 day kirtan kriya, I had a very powerful experience where I looked in the fridge and thought "I don't want to eat people any more! O my Gosh, I'm a vegetarian!" and that was that. I am a vegetarian... it was like an epiphany!

Anyway, like a lot of you, I am coming to see more and more the beauty of life and our effect on it through kundalini yoga and meditation and would really like to hear of any kundalini experiences you have had and if anyone can think of a connection between the feet and experiencing shakti around the crown chakra.

I personally feel that my vibrations may be changing, ready for the Aquarian age!

I am not sure what you were confused about so I don't know how helpful I will be - but basically repeating for you the responses I received - when your mind starts to wonder to things you consider to be negative - you stop and say to your self ... 'I am not my thoughts' ... or 'I am the grace of God radiant and complete' or another example 'Wahe guru wahe guru wahe guru wahe jio'. All of these have worked for me - to quiet my mind and remind me that I am a spiritual being and pull me out of drama/anger/upset

Relaxation, relaxation, relaxation. People have to learn to induce the relaxation response. It's all about lowering stress hormones. Especially cortisol. Too much cortisol will kill a lot of brain cells which only makes things worse. Too much cortisol equals dead brain cells then your brain can't stop the cortisol which creates a negative feedback loop were you can't stop making stress hormones and this creates Alzheimer disease, aging and many other problems. I recently read an article about this. There seems to be some research behind it.

[Kundalini Yoga] advice for teaching men in prison

Sat nam,

I am continuing to teach men in a minimum security prison in the Los Angeles area.

The guys there ask me for specific sets/exercises for their individual situations.

They would like to work on:

the sciatic nerve

the knees

the back (especially lower back)

ankles

hernia (pelvic) - would pulling root lock help?

If anyone has any specific advice on those issues, I would really appreciate it. We are advised to not teach or demonstrate the following as they are not considered appropriate for a prison setting:

cat-cow
Triangle Pose
frogs
pelvic lifts

If anyone can suggest alternatives to the asanas I just mentioned, please let me know. Do you think it would be appropriate to substitute a similar exercise in lieu of those asanas? I would love to teach some kriyas, but they have cat-cow, pelvic lifts, etc.

[Kundalini Yoga] the 3rd chakra

In my yoga class I have a person who has the fibromyalgie.
I need advices about how to make her work at the 3rd chakra if she can't do any excersises that strenghten the navel point. She can't do any abdominal exercises-impossible with her health problems.
What'd be a variant of any excersise who uses the breath of fire with the navel in, or when sitting we need to lift legs etc. ?

I only knew a few kryia (to do in a class before the relaxation and the meditations) dedicated to prosperity except the subagh kryia.

[Kundalini Yoga] Creativity Kriya

I was looking for a kriya for creativity that I could have sworn was in one of Guru Rattana's books, but I just couldn't spot it. It's the one where, among other things, you pull the colors of the chakras up your spine and later chant ONG for 11 minutes. Can anyone give me a book reference?

I am not an expert and kundalini yoga is relatively new to me ... in my opinion you meditate on your breath, being relaxed yet alert, listening deeply to the universal heartbeat, tune into your subtle body, come into presence and be one with the one ... remain here relaxed, alert, listening, expanding, dissolving .. hope this helps ... Hi I'm totally new to Kundalini Yoga and I came across this meditation on http://www.pinklotus.org
but I'm not sure how to perform it properly.
here is the meditation.

KY meditation to make you feel cozy and contented.

What It Will Do for You

This meditation will make you feel cozy and contented. It works to balance the brain by reinforcing your inner ability to be in continual touch with your higher self.


How to Do It
Connect the thumb and middle finger tips of the right hand and the tip of the thumb and little finger of the left. Fingernails don't touch. Females should hold the same position with opposite hands. With the shoulders hanging, hold the hands 7 - 8 inches apart, fingers pointing forward, a little in front of the nipples. The eyes are 1/10 open.
Breathe normally and meditate for 11 minutes, then inhale, make tight fists with both hands for a few moments, and relax.


Note: This is one of five meditations given specifically "to prepare for the gray period of the planet and to bring mental balance."

You are doing what Yogi Bhajan called Gatka Meditation ... a thought comes and you immediately strike it with equal force and quality with a line that projects your mind.  "I am the grace of God, radiant and complete!" is one example he gave.  The thought redirects the hidden agenda and brings you back to that point of stillness and reality within your self, where your primary relationship is with your soul, self and God.
 
For every thought that is a small, negative scenario, self-defeating and limiting, there is an equivalent thought that is a vast, positive scenario, self-expanding and liberating.  This redirecting of the mind neutralizes the polarity of the negative impulse that is not from our identity.  If we practise this and use the neutral zone of the mind in meditation, we can root out the hidden agenda and reclaim the full territory of the mind for our supreme consciousness and self. 

The most effective gatkas are mantra and the naad-based words of the Guru.  They carry us through three stages of meditation.  The first is a self-hypnosis where we redirect and involve the mind in the thought, sensation and feelings of the mantra or shabd. We leave behind other focuses.  We pick up on the frequency of the repeated thought as we do japa.  The second stage is extensive.  We open our sensitivity and expand our field of awareness.  We sense every cell of the body and every fiber of the aura.  We expand that aura to connect with the greater magnetic field of the universe. We feel in our cells and in our radiance the imprint and play of everything in the universe. Anything that happens in the universe creates the polarity imprint in this sensitive body.  It is the microcosm of our own field of energy correlating with the macrocosm field of the universe.  Yes, we are that connected, subtle and sensitive!  As we enter into this stage we let our extension be unlimited. 

This third stage of mediation is the qualified, stabilized neutral zone.  We are still.  We are in shuniya.  All reaction and motion stops.  We can hold any impression we want here.  Our intention directs our perception and invokes seamlessly the action of the Supreme Consciousness. 

At this point we have a choice to project into the subconscious, the unconscious or the supreme consciousness through merger in the turiya state of the mind.  This is called divine merger or the sacred space of the Infinite.  In that place all polarities are resolved with our unlimited being and consciousness.

This is taken verbatim from the KRI Conscious Communication level 2 module of teacher training.

[Kundalini Yoga] Aquarian Age Celebration

Sat Nam, you are the light, what is this you speak of?; NEGATIVE, it has
polarity, its opposite is POSITIVE. This is purely judgement of your own
perception for one man's negative is another's positive. In this moment "I
am" and in the moment that follows "I am".into infinity.neutral mind.so I
leave the negative and the positive to be of its own accord to balance
itself and balance itself it will, without our tempering . Desire-less and
neutral embraces all that unfolds before me. Simply be in stillness and
allow the universe to unfold before you.

[Kundalini Yoga] quieting the monkey mind

Greetings!

When my mind starts to wonder toward negative thoughts through out my day - I often stop and say/think -"I am not my thoughts I am the light of God Wahe guru wahe guru".

I feel better but does anyone have any thoughts on whether that will negate my negative thought - so it does not materialize in my life

I welcome any ideas!
